U5 Metro Berlin
The 2 new single-track subway tunnels create a new connection between the two existing lines U5/U55 with the stations Alexanderplatz/Brandenburger Tor. Additionally, three new metro stations were constructed. The alignment leads underneath the river Spree and the Spree channel and crosses several existing tunnels and a few of them with only 4m overburden. Amberg Engineering elaborated the conceptual- and tendering design and the implementation planning for the client BVG in a JV with SSF Ingenieure and ISP Ziviltechniker GmbH.
