No summer break on the construction site of the third Gubrist tube
The work never stops there. The entire tunnel construction team is on the job every day for a soon-to-be improved traffic flow through the expanded Gubrist. The Amberg experts on-site give us an insight into the current construction progress.
During the summer months, the following main works are scheduled:
- Mountain: Start with lining and waterproofing
- Affoltern portal: Start of concrete work for the Geissberg control centre
- Weiningen portal: Lid construction stage 2
Likewise, the planning of the new underground operations centre Sunnenrain is well advanced. It will be visualized as a 3D model and consequently be BIM-capable. In the next issue of our news series on the construction of the 3rd tube of the Gubrist tunnel, you will discover in exclusivity this 3D model and learn more about the latest progress of the construction.
